For the non-breastfeeding mother, how about a gift basket filled with products to help her pamper herself? After months of not feeling very pretty, products such as scented shower gel, skin care cream and scented oil are sure to be welcome. You could also put together a manicure and pedicure kit with all of the essential tools and a nice selection of polishes.

For the baby, one good idea is to purchase a baby bath tub and fill it with basic baby supplies such as baby powder, baby shampoo and baby oil. These are things that will all be needed when the baby comes, and it won’t cost a lot to put this gift together if you’re on a budget.

Another idea is a diaper cake. These are made by forming diapers into the shape of a cake. It usually has two or three layers, like a wedding cake. Secure the layers with rubber bands and fill it up with baby items. For example, you could put bottles in the middle and baby headbands around the top layer. Or you could just decorate it with ribbons to make it look pretty.

Any of these ideas will make an expectant mother very happy. The breast pump will save her a lot of time, money and frustration. The bath product gift basket will help her to relax for a few minutes, if she can get the baby to sleep long enough. The bath items will be very useful to have on hand, and the diaper cake is a fun and memorable gift that will also be put to good use as soon as the baby arrives.
