Giving birth at home safely
One of the choices women have during pregnancy is how they will deliver. What I’m trying to say when I said how they deliver is where do they want to give birth-in the hospital or at their homes. Most women don’t realize they have that choice mainly because they don’t realize that homebirths are safe. But of course there will be skeptics who don’t believe in this method. But if they just research and look for studies about this method then they will realize that there a lot of evidence that this method is safe.
The safety of a homebirth is definitely questioned. From my observations from my practice as a San Diego midwife I have found it to be absolutely safe. The risks are the same either in a hospital or homebirth as I have witnessed from the 300 homebirths I have assisted in.Having a baby in the hospital or at home doesn’t make any difference in minimizing those risks. On the ohter hand, the risks also would not increase because of this.
So what are the risks of doing this method? One reason is that complications might happen while giving birth and this worries people. They think that people who assist in homebirths are not nurses. Well as a homebirth midwife in San Diego we do know medical procedures. All the necessary equipments for the common complications of a chilbirth are always with us.It is but natural that any serious complications that would arise during birthing should be addressed by a doctor. But that isn’t any different then in a hospital.
Women who have low risk pregnancies are the only women recommended for homebirths. If a woman is found to have possible complications any good midwife would not encourage this method. This is standard procedure for all San Diego licensed midwife. The reason as to why is because midwives have a limited medical practice and they cannot do all the things that a doctor can do. That is why they do make sure any high risk pregnancies are delivered in a hospital.
For those against having a baby at home it will be hard to convince them otherwise. But for the women who likes to try this method then they should know that this method is safe if not as safe as a delivery in the hospital.

Advantages of water birthing
One uncommon way to give birth is water birthing but it is already gaining some popularity. This method is unlike the other methods where they require patients to lie on a medical bed.But it is safe to use when delivering a baby.
So what we are going to do is take a look at this particular process of giving birth and looking at its advantages. These are going to come from experience that I have gained as a San Diego midwife.Water birth is the method of giving birth to a baby while the mother is submerged in water.Usually, it is done in a tub full of warm water. It is said to be good for the baby because the baby also lived in a similar environment for almost 9 months. The babies have been in water inside the mother’s womb for 9 months and using this method helps the babies get adjusted.
There are also studies where it is shown to be beneficial in reducing birthing pains. To hear that is a big relief for women. Medicine is rarely used in this kind of delivery method. I have performed many without medicine as well as many other midwives San Diego I have spoken with.
Is water birthing a safe way to deliver a baby?It is safe for the babies and mothers most of the time as we can learn from the studies on this process. There are just a few cases when it isn’t safe to use because of certain medical conditions of the patient. I have had that happen in my water birth San Diego service. Going to a specialist first is the best way.
Reduced skin tears is another benefit that pregnant mothers get from having a water birth. It can be a very painful experience during delivery. But if you choose this kind of delivery then that possiblity will be lessened. Because it soothes the skin.
This kind of delivery can be the right choice for you if you just follow these steps. It has many benefits for both the mother as well as the baby. But go see and ask your doctor first if this is the right method for you.

Options for labor and delivery
It seems commonly assumed that the way to deliver a baby is in a hospital.Or to be more exact, most people assume that when you deliver a baby that medicine is required. In this piece we are going to try to shatter some of those assumptions. We are going to describe some different methods that might be better for you.
Of course these observations are going to be coming from the viewpoint of my experience running a San Diego midwife service. If you don’t know midwives in general are women who help other women during the delivery of a baby.Usually all the time without needing to use medicines in a homebirth.
So why are women choosing this method of delivery? For the many women that go with this method and understand it, it is because of several reasons.
First thing to consider is when no medicine is used, it usually makes the labor and delivery happen a lot quicker.Quite a few women don’t understand that when you use medicine it makes the labor slow down. Women use it to ease the pain but it actually prolongs the pain. There are many certified midwives in San Diego who can show you proof of that.
Second, the use of the natural method and sometimes through waterbirth actually helps soothe and relax the bodies during delivery. This produces a delivery with less pain and makes having the delivery occur much faster. I have seen it helping many women have a waterbirth in San Diego.
Those are just a few of the many reasons that a lot of women have gone with a homebirth to deliver their baby.Even though there is no use of medicine and doctors aren’t usually present, it is still a safe alternative. When the delivery is in the home, it helps foster a more private and personal environment.Rather than the hospital where there will be quite a few different people who will be poking and prodding you during labor. So with those reasons in mind, many women are going with a homebirth. It is safe and dignified and a great natural process.

Alternatives to delivering a baby
It seems commonly assumed that the way to deliver a baby is in a hospital. Or to be more specific it is assumed that medicine is necessary to deliver a baby. In this article we are going to break those assumptions. We are going to show you some other methods that might prove to be better.
Of course these observations are going to be coming from the viewpoint of my experience running a San Diego midwife service. If you aren’t knowledgeable about midwives, they are women who are there to assist in the delivery process for women.Usually all the time without needing to use medicines in a homebirth.
So why do some women choose this method? For the woman that choose this method and understand it, there are several reasons.
Second, when you do use a natural method such as a waterbirth, it actually helps the muscles and the body because it soothes and relaxes during the delivery. This produces a delivery with less pain and makes having the delivery occur much faster. I have seen it helping many women have a waterbirth in San Diego.
Those are just the beginning of many reasons that women have chosen a homebirth rather than the usual method of delivery. So even without the use of medicine and although there are no doctors, this method has been proven safe. The delivery at home actually helps the delivery remain private and dignified. Rather than in a hospital where there are several people who poke and prod through the labor. So for those few reasons, a lot of women are going the homebirth route. It is a great natural process that is safe and dignified.

Some options for your pregnancy
One of the most precious times for a woman’s life is pregnancy.Quite a few women desire to have children. It is during those pregnancy months that those desires start to now come true.
During that pregnancy a lot of choices need to be made. One of those decisions and options is the method of delivery. It is a little strange to imply that there are different options be there are.Quite a few woman usually make the choice of using medicine to aid in the delivery. But there is a growing movement of women who choose to go natural. So what that necessitates is that no medicine will be used to help in delivery. I have seen this from first hand experience as a San Diego midwife. It is taken from that experience that I am going to express various benefits.
Now how come more and more women are deciding on having no medicine for delivery. A couple of reasons.First point is that a lot of women are now realizing that medicine actually makes the delivery go slower. When you are in pain and want to deliver as fast as possible, medicine defeats the purpose.Quite a few women are now realizing that. What most women don’t think is possible is that they have another way to do it. If they make the choice to have it done that way, they can utilize the services of a midwife. In my part of the country there are quite a few midwives in San Diego.
A midwife has the ability to assist a women to have a gentle delivery. They have the option of going with a waterbirth.Waterbirth is a way to delivery that uses water to ease the pain and ease the delivery.
Also if a woman chooses, a midwife can help if they choose to deliver at home. Once again you can find a homebirth midwife in San Diego if you look.
The many benefits of having the delivery at home is that the environment is less stressed and more relaxed. These two benefits makes a natural delivery inviting. If you are having a baby, it can be a choice that you could want to have.

How to have a natural delivery
One of the effects that is sad due to our modern day and time in medicine is labor and delivery are pretty much medical procedures.
That may sound strange because most people consider delivery to be a medical event. But that is the problem. It is not a medical event. It is an event that it is possible to keep it natural and private through alternate methods. Women
should be made known to the other alternatives.
I would like to present one of those main alternatives from the perspective of a San Diego midwife.
That main alternative is having a homebirth midwife to assist you in your delivery. This practice is known as midwifery and there are plenty of midwives San Diego.
As the amount of c-sections and induction rates rise in hospitals, it has transformed a very happy moment of delivery into a possible negative experience.
That is a big factor of this push you see of women seeking more natural methods of delivery through midwives that are either certified or licensed.
Labor and delivery don’t necessarily have to include drugs, procedures that are invasive, constant probing of areas that are private, etc. It can be done safely and effectively in a home environment through that homebirth method or even a waterbirth San Diego method.
It is a service that does have high regulation. You are able to know of the skill and experience of any midwife you may consider hiring.
But getting over that stigma of not having a baby in a hospital takes education. But through statistics and through personal experience a lot of women can see first hand that having the child in a hospital can have negative effect to the whole process. From drugs that slow down the pregnancy, or speed up the pregnancy. To having to go through a c-section.Hopefully women can see the comparisons and the contrast and see the success of using a midwife.
So for those women who want to try and keep the delivery of the baby a joyous occasion, using a midwife might be something they should look into.
With the day and age of the internet, finding information about the natural process is as easy as doing a search on the internet.
There they will be able to find useful information that will help them understand the process fully. They can see the safey issues and how they are addressed. And most importantly they are able to witness the keeping of the delivery of a child a monumental occasion that is kept private and is still a happy event.

How to be safe when hiring a midwife
Pregnancy, what a beautiful time in the lives of a woman.Well, except for the sickness. But beyond that, the expectation of a new baby coming is exciting.
Usually, for a lot of women, how they are going to deliver the baby isn’t the big question. Because most women will go the standard route of a medical procedure involving hospitals, drugs, and doctors.
But for some women, an alternative is available. That alternative is hiring a midwife and doing it the natural way. And it is that alternative I am going to share from my experience as a San Diego midwife.
For those unfamiliar, midwives help women go through a natural delivery with no drugs. This usually means no doctors.
Often times midwives in San Diego perform these services at homes. Although, maybe all this is foreign to most people, it is a safe and regulated alternative way to deliver a baby.
The women, or midwives who practice this service are fully regulated. They can come in two forms which are a certified midwife or a licensed midwife, both of which are regulated and overseen by a board.
Sometimes they can be nurse midwives, but that is not a requirement.
This form of delivery is an option a lot of women choose and includes waterbirth in San Diego. Mostly the choice is made by women because they do not want any drugs during delivery and to prevent any drugs entering the new baby. Also it is for women who don’t want any invasive procedures such as episiotomys.
Well when you are making decisions as big as how you are going to deliver, you obviously want them to be the right choices. With most things, you want to pick the right person.
As previously mentioned, it is a highly regulated industry. With that being the case, finding a good licensed or certified midwife is easy.
All you are going to need to do is get the contact information for your state regulatory board that oversees midwifery and you can easily find out if there have been any complaints or issues with your prospective midwife.
With this step, you can find out if it is a quality midwife and someone you can trust. It is still obvious that even though there are no complaints or reports about your midwife, you still want to verify some references.
You will want to find that midwife whose client base only have high praises for them. With something as intimate and important as a delivery following these few steps will help you find the right midwife for your delivery.

Labor and Delivery with Midwifery
Pregnancy and delivery; a source of joy and pain for the woman. Obviously joy because of the new baby, but ask any woman, and they will tell you a source of unspeakable pain.
Well because there is that pain involved, two schools of thought have come about on how to deal with labor and delivery. I am going to offer some perspective on one particular school of thought that I have gained first hand experience with by being a homebirth midwife San Diego.
There is the medical model for delivery which is associated with drugs to kill the pain, and sometimes cesarean to complete the delivery.
While there is a lesser known model, not as widely accepted, for those that have experienced it and believe in it, they consider it a safer alternative for the woman.
That model is called the midwifery model. That model is the exact opposite of the medical model which is usually used. Where the medical model relies heavily on medicine, hence "medical", midwifery relies on the natural. Midwifery believes that pregnancy and delivery is a natural process and thus should be allowed to happen naturally.
This model is a profession practiced by midwives. Midwives San Diego are generally woman, who attend the birth, often times at the mother’s home. This midwife would help with some techniques that help the woman go through labor as naturally as possible without drugs.
Contrary to most people's opinion, when medicine is not used during labor, it allows the labor to proceed much faster without the use of drugs to slow the labor down.
The midwife is a professional with a regulatory board that certifies and licenses the individual.
Although a lot of the times they are not a nurse or a doctor, a midwife sometimes is a nurse also.
Even though they are not formal doctors or nurses, they will have some medical equipment for emergencies like resuscitation devices and equipment for suturing.
So this is what a midwife is and what midwifery is in regards to pregnancy and delivery.
Their objective is to let the labor and delivery to occur as naturally as possible. This makes the likelihood of a c-section less likely. Doesn't allow you to be subject to invasive hospital procedures such as episiotomys. Less medical management like breaking the water or using drugs to slow or speed up the pregnancy. And for the woman the best part of all is that labor and delivery usually happen quicker naturally.
Hopefully this article sheds some light on the benefits of midwifery and having a midwife for your pregnancy. At the very least, hopefully it gives you more options to explore. Remember this is first hand knowledge from a San Diego midwife.
