Common Issues Experienced Whilst Pregnant
There are a lot of changes taking place in your body during pregnancy that you should be aware of. These changes occur as part of the trimesters that you go through, with the first and third of them typically being the worst in the sense that you probably feel most discomfort during those periods.
Morning sickness or, for that matter, a feeling of nausea any time of the day, is a very common consequence of pregnancy, and happens most frequently in the first trimester. There also may be an increased sensitivity to smells which will trigger nausea. Sometimes these smells are ones that are typically enjoyed when not pregnant.
Urinary frequency and thirst in prenatal care is another common side effect of pregnancy. Women tend to be more thirsty and need more nourishment, including drinking plenty of water. Drinking more fluids, coupled with the uterus growing and pressing on your bladder, will cause you to have to urinate a lot more frequently than normal. This is common throughout the pregnancy but is most pronounced during the first and last trimesters. During the second trimester, this usually subsides a bit, but most women will still have a sense of having to urinate more frequently than when not pregnant.
You may find yourself having problems trying to get to sleep, as this is something that many pregnant women experience. Try to avoid taking any medication to help you sleep, unless it is expressly advised to you by your doctor. A better approach is to simply work on making your sleeping area more comfortable and performing relaxation techniques.
You skin, nails and hair will also undergo changes when you become pregnant, as a result of unbalances in your hormonal levels. It is best not to attempt to do anything drastic, but rather just accept that you won’t be looking your best for a while. If you try to apply various treatments to rectify these issues, not only will they probably not work, but you will also be putting yourself in contact with a range of chemicals – something that you definitely want to avoid doing whilst you are pregnant.
Bear in mind that the changes and problems mentioned above are just temporary though, and that although they may be be uncomfortable or annoying, they are not anything to worry about. However, should you feel that any of them are becoming unbearable, then you can contact your doctor, who may be able to advise you on some techniques that you can implement to lessen the impact that they are having on you.

When Not to Panic: Baby’s First Day Home from the Hospital
Why did the staff let me leave the hospital with this helpless little creature? Such were my thoughts the day I took my baby home. My newborn seemed so different than those chubby babies I had babysat – and I was totally responsible for her health and well being! I was hit hard by reality – it was me who was the parent now. Yet, giving birth had not flipped some secret “confidence switch” into the ON position. Could I do this? How could I even pretend to be as capable as she was? It was time for a small panic attack.
If you are like me, the first problem is placing that tiny body into a car seat. We had bought the best baby travel system we could find. It had a car seat that detached from its base to become an infant carrier; it also attached onto a stroller base, giving a three-in-one bonus. The previously perfect infant seat seemed to have grown to huge proportions once our new baby was lost in it! Certainly she was safer in my arms than all alone in that car seat! My husband and a little bit of logic managed to convince me to let go. Newborns tend to scrunch down into one corner of their car seats no matter how you initially place them in the seat. Until baby is more able to sit unassisted, she will be sliding to one corrner of your car seat. To help support your baby during this muscle building phase, you can buy some extra padded support for the “amoeba phase”.
Once we were home, I struggled with needing to rest and wanting to be with our baby. And she was always hungry. It was quite challenging to find a place in our home for nursing while we were both learning the process. Most moms find they need to try several positions before finding the one or two which work best. Some people use ring slings, fabric carriers that allow you to carry the baby around with you. This can be a great way to position baby for nursing if you can find the right adjustment for you. I preferred to use my ring sling as a convenient hands-free carrier. Eventually the rocking chair ended up being the best option for nursing my baby.
Of course every time my baby ate—and a few times in between—she needed changing. Newborns have an output capacity that shames the most efficient factory. I had chosen to use Fuzzi Bunz cloth diapers. It was a good thing they fit snugly. Some interesting diapering issues arise from a a “liquid only” diet.” Some of the biggest diaper challenges occurred on that first day. It is a good idea to have a few outfits ready for changing clothes you didn’t expect to have to change right away! No matter how good the cloth diapers were, they only worked as well as my attempts to fasten them. And if you do not fasten them in time…they will not work at all!
Although that first day home is daunting, it is the start of an amazing new chapter. You become accustomed to dealing with constant shifts and changes. Every phase your child reaches will test you again. Frequently pretending to be as in control and capable of child care as my mother, I found myself calling on all my resources. Then, one day, I realized she probably had pretended too—and then I knew I truly was a parent.

Useful Techniques For Trying To Get Pregnant
If you’re trying to get pregnant, but haven’t been able to do so yet, perhaps you should try a couple of different techniques to improve your chances.
One of the biggest factors in getting pregnant is the time of the month that you try to conceive. Knowing and understanding your menstrual cycle and, most importantly, at what point in the cycle you are most fertile, is essential.
Contrary to popular belief, you can’t get pregnant during any part of your cycle. To become pregnant, you must have sex at least two or three days before ovulation starts.
It’s therefore of the utmost importance to know when you ovulate. There are kits that will help you to predict your ovulation cycle, fertility specialists you can consult with, and various other methods.
Your natural degree of fertility also has a large bearing on how quickly you can conceive. Some women may not be fertile at all, while others may be so fertile it is pretty much a sure thing if they have unprotected sex at the right point in their cycle.
Their are certain types of drugs available for women who do not have a high level of fertility. In fact, over a 100,000 women each year are prescribed the most popular ones, which as clomiphene and gonadotropins.
Prior to using fertility drugs though, you should be aware that they significantly increase the likelihood of you giving birth to more than one child from a single pregnancy. It is thought that around 10% of women taking such drugs will give birth to either twins or triplets.
This is great for women who would like to have a multiple birth, but there are drawbacks. The most notable problem is that the odds of premature birth and miscarriage increase if you are carrying more than one baby.
In-vitro fertilization can be an option if the above options still don’t see you succeed whilst trying to get pregnant. It’s not a cheap option, so it’s definitely worth trying the other methods first, but it is known to be extremely effective, even for women with a low level of fertility.

Pregnant? What to Wear to Work that is Simple and Sophisticated
Dressing for the office is easy during your first trimester. Many of your suits, pants, skirts, and tops still fit, even if they’re a little snug. Your second trimester is a little more difficult. Your belly has begun to grow to the point many of your outfits no longer fit comfortably. By the seventh month, you might have trouble seeing your feet much less fitting into the sleek and trim professional attire you once wore. Your body is changing quickly and if you’d like to keep your job, your wardrobe may need to undergo a few changes, too.
The good news is that you can dress comfortably without losing your professional image – even in your third trimester. All it takes is a littel savvy wardrobe planning. In this article, you’ll learn tips for looking great at the office during your last three months of pregnancy.
Reintroduce Suits To Your Daily Attire
Business casual has become the norm in Corporate America. Companies in every industry have encouraged their employees to move their suits to the back of their closets. Retiring your suits in favor of more casual wear has a lot of perks when you’re not pregnant. You can mix and match easily while allowing your creativity to roam (within reason).
It’s a different story during your third trimester. Your growing body just won’t look the same in your existing outfits. Now’s the time to introduce a few dark maternity suits back into your wardrobe. Not only are they easy to accessorize, but they’ll flatter your body with a refined and professional look.
Simple Pants And Skirts
Every mom-to-be should own two or three pairs of black pants. They can match practically any blouse and jacket, and they’ll fit seamlessly with nearly all shoe types. Wear them with a t-shirt or a blazer, boots or sandals, socks or no socks. You’ll have plenty on your mind during the last three months of your pregnancy. Black maternity pants will ease the burden of choosing professional clothes for the office each day.
Like black pants, simple straight skirt can give you a slimming look. They are fun to mix, match, and accessorize. For example, a dark skirt and earth-toned blazer can blend perfectly with each other while the blazer can also be worn with your black pants.
Accessorize
Let your dark suits, pants, and skirts – along with a smattering of colorful blouses – form the foundation of your maternity clothes. Use jewelry and scarves to add a dash of sparkle to your look. The perfect earrings can inject an air of sophistication or an air of whimsy (depending on the earrings), while a colorful scarf will give your professional attire a bit of zest.
It doesn’t have to be a headache to dress appropriately for work during your third trimester. Making a few smart maternity wear choices will have you looking great, feeling comfortable, and spending less time worrying about both.

Maternity Clothes – Basics You’ll Need
During the first trimester your belly will grow, making your clothes fit a little tighter than you’re used to. Pretty soon you’ll be looking through your partner’s closet for button down shirts and other clothes that provide more room to grow. Eventually, you’ll outgrow them, too.
Millions of moms-to-be are surprised by how quickly their bodies change from trimester to trimester. Your wardrobe needs to reflect your expanding frame. Throughout your pregnancy, you’ll discover that there are some essential Maternity Clothing items you’ll need to buy. Four are listed below.
Bigger Bras
Your breasts will begin to grow almost immediately after you get pregnant. This is one of the changes your body goes through in order to accommodate the little one growing within you. If your chest was relatively flat prior to conceiving, this might be a welcome feature of your pregnancy. Of course, if you’re already pretty well endowed in the chest region, a larger size might cause discomfort and back pain.
Plan to buy several larger bras. They’ll help support your growing breasts and relieve the added stress on your back and shoulders.
Expandable Pants And Maternity Jeans
At some point during your pregnancy your pants won’t fit anymore. It is a good idea to expand your maternity wardrobe. Pants with drawstrings or elastic waists will become invaluable to your comfort. You might consider low-rise pants that hang on the hips instead of the waste.
Another absolute must is a pair of maternity jeans. They’ve come a long way over the last several years and now offer comfort, style, and convenience. Not only will you wear them throughout your pregnancy, but you’ll also find them indispensable during the weeks following childbirth.
Fitted Tees And Comfortable Shirts
Maternity t-shirts are now designed to fit snugly around your growing body while showing off your best curves. You’re no longer forced to buy t-shirts that are seven sizes larger than you would normally wear. The same is true for halter tops, blouses, and other shirts. While they emphasize comfort, they’re designed to let you show off your curves with a dash of style.
Comfy Shoes
Often neglected, your feet can influence your mood. They’re tasked with carrying the brunt of the weight; if they’re uncomfortable, they’ll let you know. The problem is that your feet will expand during pregnancy in the same way your stomach will. Meaning you’ll also need to invest in larger shoes. To further ensure your comfort, leave your high heels in your closet and opt for pumps, sneakers, and sandals that are easy to slip on and off.
As you move closer to the end of your pregnancy, your level of comfort will become a higher priority to you. Your clothes and shoes are an integral part of attaining that level of comfort. Plan ahead and stock your closet with the four maternity clothes basics we’ve described above.
