Getting Back To Being Beautiful After Having A Baby
We all love little babies and their beautiful faces that look at us with the most innocent eyes. The day you bring home your baby and put him or her in their convertible baby furniture will be a memorable day.
Soon after, things get quite busy at home. But after a short time, a baby usually follows a certain routine. At that point in time he got his start paying some attention to you. Although the most rewarding thing in the world that you’ve ever possibly done was having this baby, you shouldn’t neglect yourself.
One problem that many mothers face is that of extra weight. Many women gain a lot of weight and have a hard time going back to what they used to be before they became pregnant. Exercising can really help. What is unfortunate is that it takes a long time to see results and you must have plenty of time throughout the week to be able to exercise. This can often be a challenge because of the excessive work that comes with these cute little babies of arts.
You could always try surgical procedures to remove extra fat. Liposuction is an option. After liposuction, you will have a better figure and help you to feel more beautiful. Getting back to pre-baby weight is often a job in itself, so you should take advantage of every option that you have available to you.
Try not to fall into the trap that many women do, whereby they completely neglect themselves. In order to avoid this, take a day of the week in which you can dedicate a couple of hours to yourself. Of course, this has to be every week. Here you can give yourself the time to go and have a facial.
Your skin requires some type of attention in order for you to maintain it properly. Don’t let yourself go, when you don’t have to. Even if you are accustomed to going to the spa for all those little extras, you can actually do them at home as well. In fact, you can buy products or make some with the ingredients you already have in your home.
In dedicating that little time to yourself, you will be investing in your overall health, both in the psychological and physical areas. It may even result in you being a better mother, because your spirits will be lifted.
Moreover, your baby will feel even better with you, because of the happiness that you’ll be feeling. Babies have very intense feelings and senses. So, when you have some free time try to utilize it to the best of your ability to give yourself a little boost.

You’re Going To Have A Baby: Now What?
What was your reaction when you’re midwife said, ‘Congratulations, you’re expecting a baby?’ Most women are overjoyed at the possibility of new life within their womb and can hardly wait until it’s born. There are many things you will want to do in preparation for the arrival of this new family member. Here is an early pregnancy guide for you to follow.
Begin to exercise regularly. Exercise has several functions in pregnancy. It will help you strengthen your body muscles so they will be able to support the weight of the baby. It will help you to maintain a normal weight gain and not gain extra weight during your pregnancy. Exercise will, also, help you keep a happy, positive outlook on life and keep you from getting depressed.
When you are pregnant, you need to choose a type of exercise where you don’t have the possibility of falling or of getting hit. The best exercises to choose from are walking, yoga, aqua-aerobics and swimming.
Eat a good, healthy diet. Eat lots of fresh vegetables and fruit. In the morning cut carrot slices, and place them on a tray with slices of apples, kiwis and oranges. Add different kinds of berries as well. Leave the tray in the refrigerator, and snack from it throughout the day when you feel hungry. You won’t gain extra weight even if you eat a lot of fruits.
Have you heard about the new acai berry juice? It’s one of the new super foods that is full of vitamins and minerals. Now that you are pregnant, it would be a good idea to buy acai berry juice and drink it throughout the day. It has a chocolate, berry flavor that is different from other juices, but it is delicious. You can use it in deserts or to make smoothies, in order to have something a little bit different.
Now that you are expecting a baby, you need to put your health and the health of your baby ahead of your own desires. Stop smoking, drinking alcohol and using drugs. If you are using these things, you are already destroying your own health, but you can greatly damage the health of your baby, too.
Do you drink a lot of coffee, soda pop and tea? Are you a big chocolate fan? These things all act as a mild stimulant in your body, and they can have an effect on your baby, too. There is a higher risk of miscarriage and of having a small, underweight baby in women who consume high quantities of caffeine.
When you discover you are pregnant, start taking care of yourself in a special way in preparation for the birth of your new baby. The three things you need to remember is to drink juice from the acai berry, eat healthy food and exercise every day.

Baby Shower – Readying the Welcoming Committee
Receiving news about being pregnant is one of the best news at all. Well, this might be the second best next to the grand proposal. Hearing that your love has finally borne fruit is similar to getting icing on the cake. If you are a first time mother, then it might be a bit challenging to find the right equipment that your baby will need.
Moms-to-be need to list down all the things the baby would need at the soonest possible time so that little by little, each item can already be purchased and readied for the baby’s arrival. However, there is another easy way to almost have it all, without getting too much headache over it.
One way to solve this would be to throw a baby shower! The only headache that the mother would have would be coming up with the right menu for that special day.
Now the burden of searching and looking for baby stuff is passed on to the invitees. But another concern is raised. How will the baby shower go about?
The best answer there is, is to have a theme that would guide the flow of the baby shower. There are several ways of choosing and deciding on a theme. Do you want it to be based on color?
In case you already know the gender of the baby, pink or blue is used to universally represent a baby girl or a baby boy. Or baby items such as a pacifier or a baby bottle? How about character-themed baby shower such as the Sesame Street, Power Puff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory or the Looney Tunes?
It could also be a time-of-the-day baby shower whereby each invitee is tasked to bring something the baby would need or use during that time of the day.
From www.best-baby-gift-guide.com, it suggests wonderful baby shower gift ideas such as a baby gift basket, a layette gift set, vital baby equipment, beautiful baby linen, a baby massage set, or a baby gift certificate.
Each gift idea is unique. For the baby gift basket, some ideas they suggest is to create your own baby gift basket or go for the classical clothing baby gift basket where you can never go wrong.
You can also go for monogrammed baby gift baskets, fun baby basket, mother and baby basket, gift basket for twins, or a pampering baby gift basket. They also have different suggestions for baby girl and baby boys.
For the complete descriptions for each item, just visit their website and read on to find fantastic baby gift ideas.
Once the baby shower is finished, take stock of what is already there and not. For those items still missing from your list, make the necessary arrangments to have it readily available once the baby arrives.
Just some last few tips for a successful baby shower: hold it four to six weeks before the due date, establish a theme, write down the guest list, set the tone and size of the baby shower, plan the games, plan the menu, create baby shower party favors, and last but not the least, set the time and location, if it will not be held in your residence.
Remember, baby showers are a fun way to welcome the baby that would be coming soon enough.

When Not to Panic: Baby’s First Day Home from the Hospital
Why did the staff let me leave the hospital with this helpless little creature? Such were my thoughts the day I took my baby home. My newborn seemed so different than those chubby babies I had babysat – and I was totally responsible for her health and well being! I was hit hard by reality – it was me who was the parent now. Yet, giving birth had not flipped some secret “confidence switch” into the ON position. Could I do this? How could I even pretend to be as capable as she was? It was time for a small panic attack.
If you are like me, the first problem is placing that tiny body into a car seat. We had bought the best baby travel system we could find. It had a car seat that detached from its base to become an infant carrier; it also attached onto a stroller base, giving a three-in-one bonus. The previously perfect infant seat seemed to have grown to huge proportions once our new baby was lost in it! Certainly she was safer in my arms than all alone in that car seat! My husband and a little bit of logic managed to convince me to let go. Newborns tend to scrunch down into one corner of their car seats no matter how you initially place them in the seat. Until baby is more able to sit unassisted, she will be sliding to one corrner of your car seat. To help support your baby during this muscle building phase, you can buy some extra padded support for the “amoeba phase”.
Once we were home, I struggled with needing to rest and wanting to be with our baby. And she was always hungry. It was quite challenging to find a place in our home for nursing while we were both learning the process. Most moms find they need to try several positions before finding the one or two which work best. Some people use ring slings, fabric carriers that allow you to carry the baby around with you. This can be a great way to position baby for nursing if you can find the right adjustment for you. I preferred to use my ring sling as a convenient hands-free carrier. Eventually the rocking chair ended up being the best option for nursing my baby.
Of course every time my baby ate—and a few times in between—she needed changing. Newborns have an output capacity that shames the most efficient factory. I had chosen to use Fuzzi Bunz cloth diapers. It was a good thing they fit snugly. Some interesting diapering issues arise from a a “liquid only” diet.” Some of the biggest diaper challenges occurred on that first day. It is a good idea to have a few outfits ready for changing clothes you didn’t expect to have to change right away! No matter how good the cloth diapers were, they only worked as well as my attempts to fasten them. And if you do not fasten them in time…they will not work at all!
Although that first day home is daunting, it is the start of an amazing new chapter. You become accustomed to dealing with constant shifts and changes. Every phase your child reaches will test you again. Frequently pretending to be as in control and capable of child care as my mother, I found myself calling on all my resources. Then, one day, I realized she probably had pretended too—and then I knew I truly was a parent.

Which Child Carrier Offers Your Baby the Most Benefit
Important mental, emotional, and physical developmental benefits can be achieved by wearing your baby. Parents can realize the best possible developmental benefits for their children using any type of baby carrier. Many parents feel a little overwhelmed when it comes time to purchase the right baby carrier. Depending upon your body type and your personal requirements, the best type of baby carrier for you will be different than for other families.
One type of carrier is the traditional sling or pouch sling. These slings go over one shoulder, and the baby lays in the fabric carrier. Snug As A Bug, Kangaroo Korner and ZoloWear are popular brands of the pouch-style sling. As slings can be used from birth, expecting parents often choose these to start wearing their baby. Additionally, slings tend to work well with particular body types and are not adjustable, making it difficult or not possible for sharing between parents or use if your body does not return to it’s prepregnancy shape. Frequently, parents discover that bearing all baby’s weight on one shoulder can be painful after long periods.
A variation of the traditional sling is a ring sling. With ring slings you get all the advantages of a traditional sling but it’s completely adjustable, making it a great option if you plan to share or drop in weight post partum. Plus sized moms find this style very well-liked.
An alternative to traditional or ring-style slings are baby wrap carriers, or wraps. Versatile but challenging, the wrap style baby carrier is an excellent option for parents. A popular brand of wraps is the Ellaroo. Your baby is supported by a rectangular piece of flexible cloth which is wrapped around you in one of many configurations. The wrap carrier can be tied in a wide variety of ways which makes this carrier the most versatile carrier to use but can be the most daunting to parents.
An emerging carrier on the market which originated in China is the mei tai. A mei tai carrier is a rectangular piece of cloth with parallel straps emerging from each corner. The baby is held against your chest, back or side using the rectangular cloth while the straps criss-cross behind you and wrap back around below your baby’s bottom or on the back to secure the baby. From newborn through toddler-age children, mei tai carriers are very versatile and, with its adjustable-length, strap-style design, the mei tai can be conveniently shared and is well-suited for larger parents.
Finally you have your more modern baby carriers which are commonly used. Much like backpacks which can be worn on the front or the back, your baby is placed inside the carrier and “sits”. Some popular brands are Graco, Eddie Bauer, and Baby Bjorn. The simple use of this type of carrier makes it a good choice for parents that plan to spend a lot of time on walks or taking hikes with their children. This carrier keeps your baby securely held in place while offering parents as much mobility as possible.
No matter which baby carrier you prefer, baby wearing provides both you and your baby many benefits. Caring for your older children is a simpler task when you are wearing your baby. You no longer need to worry about the constraints of large strollers. And of course, wearing your baby and having him close to you while you do your day to day tasks will foster your bond and strengthen the relationship you have with your child.

What You Need to Know About Bringing Baby Home for the First Time
As your baby’s birth approaches, you may find yourself so caught up in the homecoming event that you may overlook items you need to help make your baby’s arrival home as smooth as possible. To avoid this hiccup, it is a great idea to slowly purchase required products before your due date so you can make sure you have everything you need and you have time to procure any missed items. Making the transition home from the hospital can be quite pleasing as long as you have a few essential items.
First and foremost, have a rear-facing car seat. You will not be allowed to take your baby home without one. It is not necessary to immediately have a stroller to bring your baby home though you may want to consider looking into baby travel systems which provide the required infant car seat and also a stroller which you’ll later need.
Often overlooked by many parents is the value of babywearing. Research has shown that the use of baby wrap and sling-style carriers that keep baby close to mom or dad offer many benefits to the baby’s development. Though not critical to the arrival day, these types of carriers are great to use right from the beginning.
You’ll need to have a place for your newborn to sleep once the baby arrives home. A bassinet or crib and a couple of sets of sheets and blankets will be needed. As a bassinet provides a more compact space to which newborns are accustomed and a crib offers roomier for mobility baby’s growth, many parents choose to purchase both a crib and a bassinet for their baby. When your baby is better acquainted with the new environment, in a month or two, crib sleeping will be more comfortable to him or her.
As newborns want to feel confined and have difficulty regulating their body temperature, receiving blankets not only provide a health benefit but a comforting one as well. Their also [extremely usefulinvaluable] when those unexpected burp-time spit-ups occur. Receiving blankets will often be used for wrapping your infant during nap and nighttime sleeping.
Many infants appear to have a near-constant hunger, especially in the first days and nights, so being prepared for proper feeding is crucial. Many of the feeding accessories you need will depend on your choice of breast or formula feeding. In either case, you’ll need some basic items such as bibs, burping cloths and bottles – even with breastfeeding, many mom’s like to store some breast milk for future feedings or letting dad enjoy some feeding time with baby.If you’ll be formula feeding, you will need to have a couple weeks of formula before your baby’s arrival home. If planning to breastfeed, you may want to consider breast pumps and nursing pads.
For your baby’s arrival, you’ll also need to have plenty of diapers at home. It’s likely that your baby may need a dozen diaper changes each day. You’ll need to make the choice between using cloth or disposable diapers for your baby. Disposables are the easiest to use but can cost you quite a bit of money over the years you will spend changing diapers. One-size cloth diapers are also easy to purchase and use, but you’ll also need diaper inserts with them. Wether cloth or disposable diapering, you’ll need to have an abundance of baby wipes, a changing table or pad, baby powder, and diaper rash ointment.
Having initial health care items specific to your baby will also be very important. A newborn or infant first aid kit, which includes a nasal aspirator, thermometer, and toenail clippers, among other things, is one such item. For baby’s first bath, make sure you have an infant tub, hooded bath towels, tearless shampoo, and baby lotion.
Though purchasing baby’s first toys is a fun part of every soon-to-be parent’s experience, there are only a few that are important during the first weeks, as your baby won’t yet be ready for a lot of individual play. Invaluable to your baby’s enjoyment are toys which can stimulate his or her senses. It’s always good to start stimulating baby’s development as early as possible. Baby can find much enjoyment and comfort through the soft songs and sounds of a soft toy or mobile.
All you need to address are these basic items to ensure a joyous arrival home with the entire family. Keeping a proper perspective as to what’s really important within the first several week’s will help you plan well and keep the stresses that come with being a new parent to a minimum. Most of all, remember that this is a very special time for your whole family so, even if you do overlook something, don’t let the “little things” get in the way of enjoying this time with your new baby.

Why You Need a Baby Heart Rate Monitor
No longer does the pregnant soon-to-be Mom have to wait for her next check up with her doctor to listen to her baby’s heartbeat. Now, right in the comfort of her own home any time she likes, she can use a baby heartbeat monitor to connect with her unborn child. It’s an amazing experience to hear your baby’s heart beat, not just the first time, but every time.
If you have had a miscarriage in the past or a previous difficult pregnancy it is understandable to be concerned about the current unborn child you are carrying. Regular visits to your OBGYN are extremely important, but a Doppler baby heart rate monitor may make your pregnancy a more relaxed experience for both you and your baby. A calm, relaxed mother is good for the baby.
The portable Doppler baby heart rate monitor is very similar to those used in doctor’s offices. They are simply smaller and more portable and are perfect for home use. Midwives love them as well.
These devices can detect your baby’s heart beat through the use of ultrasound and are battery powered. They are safe, easy to use and can pick up the baby’s heart beat as early as 10 weeks. A speaker broadcasts the sound of the heart beat and some models include an LCD display panel and a headphone jack as well.
Doppler fetal heart rate monitors are available for rent or purchase. They range in price from $50 to $500 for home use. It can be extremely helpful to take your monitor with you to your next prenatal exam and let your physician help you find the heart beat for the first time. There are a few ‘tricks’ that will make the process easier for you.
You will need a gel in addition to the monitor. It is often included, but if it is not, mineral oil or body lotion will work as well. It is also helpful, especially the first time you attempt to locate the heartbeat, to do it at a time when your bladder is full.
Begin by place plenty of gel on an area above the pubic hair line and below the belly button. Locate the probe on the area where you have applied the gel. Keeping the full face of the probe against the belly, move it very slowly in a rocking motion around the area until you find the heart beat.
The Doppler baby heart beat monitors have been approved for home use by the FDA. They have been test regularly over the last 30 years and no adverse effects have been shown to occur. The FDA does not even suggest a doctor’s approval before using at home.
Doppler baby heart beat monitors can make the ‘waiting for baby’ experience fun for the whole family. Not only will Mom find it reassuring, Dad and brother and sister can join in the excitement as well. A monitor can also make a difficult pregnancy less stressful and offer reassurance that everything is okay.
Use the monitor to relax and enjoy this special time of waiting and anticipation and keep your doctor informed of your progress. Continue to follow his recommendations and keep up with your pre-natal visits. Use the Doppler baby heart beat monitor to assist you and your doctor to make your pregnancy an easier experience.
